Privacy Policy

Cue Q (“Cue Q”, “we”, “us”) operates the website https://cue-q.com and the Cue Q Chrome extension. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. Questions: ajitesh@cue-q.com.
Who we are
Cue Q is a team prompt library. You can organize, share, and reuse AI prompts on the web, and insert them into ChatGPT or Claude with the Chrome extension. We do not sell your data or show ads in the product.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Cue Q, we may process:
- Account: name, email address, password hash (we do not store plaintext passwords), and optional profile image.
- Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google,” Google shares your name, email, and profile image with us so we can create or sign in to your Cue Q account.
- Library content: prompts (title and content), folders, sharing settings, and team membership you create.
- Extension session: after you sign in with Chrome Identity, the extension stores a session token and a copy of your user id, name, email, and image in the browser’s
chrome.storage.local. That data stays on your device until you sign out. - Transactional email: verification, password reset, and team invitation messages sent to the address you provide.
- Billing: if you upgrade a team, we process subscription status, plan interval, and Dodo Payments customer and subscription identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Dodo Payments, not stored by Cue Q.
- Website analytics: on cue-q.com we use Microsoft Clarity to record how people use the site (pages visited, clicks, scrolls, heatmaps, and session recordings), and Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregated traffic metrics. This applies to the website only, not the Chrome extension.
Chrome extension
The extension’s single purpose is to access your Cue Q prompt library and insert a prompt you select into ChatGPT or Claude.
- It talks only to Cue Q at
cue-q.com/www.cue-q.comover HTTPS. - Sign-in uses Chrome Identity (
launchWebAuthFlow) against Cue Q. We do not receive your Google or Chrome account password. - Content scripts run only on
chatgpt.com,chat.openai.com, andclaude.ai. They insert the prompt text you choose into the chat composer. They do not read, store, or transmit your ChatGPT or Claude conversation history, page content, or browsing activity. - The extension does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers. Fonts and scripts are bundled with the extension; it does not load remote code.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Create and authenticate your account
- Provide the prompt library, teams, sharing, and the extension
- Send essential account email (verify, reset password, invites)
- Process paid subscriptions and enforce plan limits
- Keep the service secure and debug failures you report
- Understand website usage and improve the product
We do not sell personal information. We do not use extension data for unrelated purposes, creditworthiness, or advertising.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses essential session cookies for sign-in (Better Auth). Microsoft Clarity also sets first-party cookies (and may use local storage) on the website for session recordings and heatmaps. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage. The extension uses chrome.storage.local for the session described above. We do not use advertising cookies.
Sharing
We share data only as needed to run Cue Q:
- Hosting and email providers that process data on our instructions (for example to store the app database or send mail).
- Dodo Payments, when you subscribe to Pro. They process name, email, and payment details to charge and manage the subscription. See their privacy policy at dodopayments.com.
- Microsoft Clarity, for website analytics as described above. See Microsoft’s privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
- Cloudflare, for cookieless website analytics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Google, only if you sign in with Google.
- Teammates and public links: prompts and folders you mark as shared with a team are visible to that team. Public share links are viewable by anyone with the URL.
- If required by law or to protect the service and users.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and library data while your account is active. Sign out of the extension to clear the local session token and cached profile. To delete your Cue Q account and associated library data, email ajitesh@cue-q.com from the address on the account. We will delete or anonymize personal data unless we must retain it for legal reasons.
Children
Cue Q is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
Traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Extension API calls use a bearer token stored locally. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
